I was planning on leaving for Colorado today with the family to visit my folks and hang out. But Stevestock is tomorrow, and Stevestock can't be missed.
Stevestock is an all day musical event put on by my friends in the lush Saratoga hills above the valley. It's at Steve's house. His 14 acre compound. Friends from all over the world will be showing up to perform and drink. Some of the bands include Carlos, The Sweet Life, The Slowest Train in the World, Heavy Hindenburg among others. I'm going to be playing the Theremin with The Sweet Life. They do a kick-ass cover of Immigrant Song that needs some tweaky high pitched squeals and squelches to put it over the top. I'm happy to lend a hand (as it were).
If you're in Saratoga tomorrow, come on by. It's up Big Basin Way (Hwy 9) then make a left on Booker Creek Road and follow that all the way up. Just keep going up. You'll find it. I need to call Ramon.
So we go to Colorado on Monday. No big deal, just things shift.
Why is it that there's never a good time to go on vacation? There's always something important going on at work. I don't know how many times I've gone on vacation and had to fly home in the middle of it for an important meeting, then fly back. This time isn't much of an exception. I'm working on some great stuff that is just getting off the ground. It's not easy to leave. Plus I really dig what we're doing. So that makes it tough. I'm leaving things in good hands. But I'm going to check email and be available just in case. I don't have to. But I want to.
I tweaked the layout of this here blog the other day. It needed a freshening up. I'm not done, but I think it's better. I like the text aligned to the left and the other crap on the right. It says that the content is the most important thing on the page. Not a dumb photo of me or a bunch of irrelevant links.
I'll post Stevestock photos and other entries while I'm on the road. "Great! Observations from Beach's parents house in Grand Junction Colorado." It ain't no Bangalore.
